Meadow Music by Jeff Kagan

Meadow Music is a children’s concert held at Chautauqua Park, at the base of the foothills, almost every Monday evening from 5:30-7:30PM for June & July! This past Monday we met a bunch of friends and had so much fun! This is held in the open green grassy area close to the Ranger’s Cottage. Everyone brought a picnic and let the kids play together in the grass. The concert is in the main grassy area. Before the show starts they host a children’s nature hike, so wear appropriate shoes. It’s a very easy hike intended to teach children about nature and wildlife in our area. The music was really fun and educational. They focus of the lyrics was largely environmental and ‘green’ oriented. They made it very fun and it was obvious that the kids loved it!

Meadow Music Chautauqua

My 2 year old daughter, Alexis, kept saying, “Party Mama! Not my birthday, Mama. Party!” It was cute to explain to her that it was a concert. She wanted to be up by the crowd around the music. At one point the musicians asked us to hike around the field. She wanted to be in my shoulders and kept asking me to go faster, “Run Mama! Run!” After the music she ran around the meadow with her friends playing tag. Needless to say she slept very well that evening! This concert is so much fun for Boulder families and is another reason why I love living here!
